What is a Hip Pointer?
A hip pointer is a bruise or contusion to the iliac crest the top portion of the pelvis typically caused by direct trauma such as a fall or collision in contact sports. It results in sharp pain, tenderness, and sometimes visible bruising over the hip area. Most cases resolve with rest, ice, and pain relief, but severe cases may limit athletic activity for several weeks.
