What are Lateral Collateral Ligament (LCL) Injuries?
LCL injuries involve a stretch or tear to the lateral collateral ligament, located on the outer side of the knee. They usually occur due to a direct blow to the inside of the knee or sudden twisting motions. Symptoms include pain, swelling, and instability when moving or bearing weight. Treatment depends on severity and ranges from rest and physiotherapy to surgical repair for complete tears.
