Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) Injuries - Orthopaedic Care - Sydney, NSW
What are Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) Injuries?
MCL injuries involve damage to the ligament on the inner side of the knee, which helps stabilise the joint. These injuries are usually caused by a blow to the outside of the knee, forcing it inward. Symptoms include pain on the inside of the knee, swelling, and instability. Most MCL injuries heal with rest, bracing, and physiotherapy, though severe tears may require surgical intervention.
